‘80s Fight Back! Theme Song

Do you have the Fight Back! theme song stuck in your head? You can thank David Horowitz for the earworm. He co-wrote the song with Russ Regan and Jimmy George, who also produced it. Billboard called Regan a “golden-eared” music executive. He held positions at Motown, Uni Records, and 20th Century Records throughout his decades-long career, signing artists such as Elton John, Neil Diamond, and Barry White. Regan worked with Smokey Robinson, Frank Sinatra, Olivia Newton-John, and many others. Jimmy George toured with The Beach Boys as a sideman. The Fight Back! theme song featured Steve Donn, with a tenor sax solo by David Boruff. Boruff also played the sax solo in the 1985 theme from St. Elmo’s Fire, written by David Foster.
